Dr. Degeufe Hailu

Vice President

Dr. Degeufe Hailu was a founding member of the Ethiopian Community Association in New South Wales. He now works as a multi-lingual interpreter.

Linda Ning

Treasurer

Linda Ning has a Masters Degree in Commerce from the University of Sydney, Working as a Finance Officer at the Sydney Local Health District, Linda is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA)  

Michael Muhlbauer

Michael is a Franco Australian who has worked for many years for large organisations in both the commercial and Government sectors.

Mohammed Omar

Executive Member

Mohammed Omar was the Cultural & Anti-Racism Officer with the University of Western Sydney Students’ Association. He was president of HARDA in 2012.

Abrar Ahmad

Executive Member

Abrar Ahmad is a youth worker at a crisis accommodation center. He has a bachelor of Social Science from the University of Western Sydney.

Anna Dimo

Executive Member

Anna Dimo was born in Wau, South Sudan. She was the leader of the Aweil community for 5 years and leader of the women’s sector for 4 years. Since 2009, Anna has been the Manager of the St. Bakhita Centre. 

Carmel Clarke

Assoc. Executive Member

Carmel is a key member of the Secretariat (Community Relations) and HARDA’s longest serving volunteer. She has extensive social welfare and community service experience. 

Cindy Larson

Assoc. Executive Member

Cindy worked in the finance industry. She has been an active volunteer with Fresh Air Fund (NYC, USA), NJ SEEDS (NJ, USA), Worldwide Orphans Foundation (NJ/NYC). She is currently a volunteer at the St Bakhita Centre as well as HARDA.

Dr. Mohamud Sheikh

Immediate Past President / Overseas Consultant

Dr. Mohamud is a Senior Lecturer in International Health, Tropical and Infectious diseases at SPHCM, UNSW. He graduated from the University of Sydney with double Master in Health Sciences and International Public health and a doctorate in public health.

Dr John Cornwall

Consultant to board (CEO Emeritus)

Dr Cornwall was the South Australian Minister of Health. He was in private veterinary practice in Mt Gambier and Adelaide. He retired in 2007 and joined HARDA as a volunteer.

Ahmed Mohamed

Executive Director

Ahmed Mohamed has nearly 30 years of experience in humanitarian work and community service especially for the African communities in Australia and overseas. He has an MBA and is currently a consultant on government financial regulations – HAWALA.
